Day 2 of the trip was all about the fishing. We were up early (amazing how that works when you’re out fishing and all the retired officers are chomping at the bit to get on the lake), had breakfast and were on the lake by 7 a.m.
Typically we fish from about 7:15 to 11:30 a.m. Then we head for the designated lunch spot for a shore lunch (fresh fish, potatoes, beans and cookies!). We’re back out on the lake or river by 1 p.m. and fish until 5. Some days we go out before breakfast for top-water fishing, and some days we go out after dinner for more. Most of us are still tired from the trip and spending all day in the sun, so there was very little “extra” fishing the first night.
